I got involved in sand by accident. I was travelling in Australia a few years ago when I stumbled across an exhibition in Melbourne, I insisted on taking a look around and was fortunate enough to catch the artists at work.“How can I get involved?” I said to Meg Murray (an Australian artist). Van Bruinssen (a Dutch artist). Jino helped and encouraged me for the final 2 days of the project, after which I was offered a job on their next project in Sydney where I participated from start to finish. Compacting the sand to repairing damage.The following few months took me to various projects, exhibitions and competitions in Europe. I picked up a few prizes along the way and was eventually confident enough to enter the World Championships in Canada. In 2007 I won the Gold medal in theDoubles Division and am now sculpting independently around the world, teaching sculpture workshops and commissioning my own projects.
