Born in Coventry, Warwickshire in 1943, Peter Eugene Ball’s sculpture echoes the consciousness of past ages set in the context of the present day. His works assume a timeless quality and the statements he makes often have an historical, mythological or literary origin and reflect his gentle wit and criticism of the human condition. He works with found objects, predominantly wood, often embellished with beaten metals such as copper, pewter or gold leaf, and his sculpture is mainly figurative.
