I worked as an apprentice with the label Satya Paul during my curriculum at Nid, Ahmedabad. My project focused on two collections: Autumn-Winter 07/08 and Spring-Summer ’09.
The first (Autumn-Winter ‘07/’08) comprises of inspirations such as ‘Distress Jamevar’ wherein the basic idea is to present the ancient style ‘jamewar’ with a contemporary mix by either distressing it or breaking it, still maintaining its original essence.

is again very unique as it combines attributes like fierceness of a wild animal with the soft and delicate textures of a lace.
The collection consisted of a range in sarees focusing on prints, hand and machine embroideries, laces, cutwork and other surface ornamentation techniques. The color palette used consisted of warm as well as frozen colors adding basics like red, black and white. The second (Spring-Summer ’09) had themes like Dream Flower and Polkas.
